Jeanne Jordan and Steve Ascher’s Troublesome Creek is the story of the Jordan family's struggle to save their Iowa farm. Wry and emotional, without being sentimental, Troublesome Creek is a story about history, loss and the humor and deep character that settled America, and now preside at its unsettling.

A unique score, moody and evocative, performed by S.M. (electric, acoustic and gut string guitars, mandolin, hammered dulcimer, keyboards and electronics) and guitar ace Duke Levine (electric, acoustic, slide and baritone guitars, and mandolin). Billboard called it "a high lonesome aural vista as bracing as a first frost."
